The Re-make

We chose to create a re-make of an existing film opening because it will allow us to get a feel for the type of opening that we would want to create. Also, it will allow us to identify the generic conventions required in a specific film opening so that we can tailor our own film opening to our chosen film genre.

By explaining why we did a remake of a film opening, it will allow us to identify conventions that you would most likely see in a film opening. Also, by doing this, we will make sure that we don't include inaccurate things that don't need to be in our film opening as it might confuse the viewer.

We chose to re-create the shinning because it has an opening that builds up suspense as well as providing excellent establishing shots, our group has found out through the opening of "The Shining" (1980) that music plays a key element in building up suspense and tension, this allows us to use this information in our final film, to create suspense and tension, in our film opening to infuse our audience into the story and to be absorbed into the atmosphere of the film.
